3D Modeling Projects

I executed multiple models to introduce and familiarize myself with 3D modeling in the application Autodesk Maya, gradually increasing my skills with each project. My first model was the science molecule. I wanted to start simple; at the building blocks of modeling so as not to get overwhelmed. Naturally, I thought of the building blocks of life: atoms and molecules. So, I created a visualization of what I thought a water-resistant molecule would look like with a technical twist. I mainly used extrusion to mold the molecule to be rough and bumpy to deter water. In contrast, the robotic arms are smooth to emanate the cold, metallic feel of technology.

My next model, the bridge, was a collaboration with a peer of mine. She created the environment and I created the bridge and we merged out models together. In this project, I learned about replicating, texturing, and lighting. The third model was my creation of a COVID dream space (since it was 2020). I wanted to use a culmination of what I learned and dabble in interior and exterior modeling of architectural spaces. Iā€™m interested in a career in interior design and architecture so I used this project as practice for what it might be like to 3D model for the industry.
